St. Nicola is a small Christian church with a cemetery. It is located on the farthest eastern point of Velika Plazha close to the river Bojana. Every year on May 9, a procession takes place there. This procession is traditionally visited by Muslims, too.

In order to express their gratitude to the saint, even older citizens come to this “small prigrimage“ barefooted, walking  like this a few kilometres. According to a legend the ships which had been transporting the body of St. Nicola to Pulja (Apulia), stopped at this place to do some repairs. Since the body of this saint , the protector of all sailors and traders, was placed here, one of the locals made a modest sacral temple at the same place.
